Painter and sculptor. Lives and works in Tel Aviv. Member of the Israeli Association of Visual Artists.

I sculpt in clay and cast in bronze. The sculptures are usually rather imaginary creatures that do not distinguish between male, female, or animal — they are a combination of all three.

In painting, I seek a different angle for observing my immediate surroundings. I enjoy painting images that I remove from their natural environment and real context through extreme magnification, resulting in an almost abstract image that bears little resemblance to the original.

For this exhibition, I submitted two works from a series dealing with nearly architectural interiors from my home.

The Sofa – This is a life-size charcoal drawing printed at full scale of the sofa in my home, measuring 3.10 meters in length and 1.50 meters in width. The sofa is the heart of the home, and the impressions in it emphasize both those present and absent from the sofa and the home.

The Window and the Shutter – This is a charcoal drawing of the window in my home, measuring 1.50 meters by 1.00 meter. It represents the partition between the inside of the home and the outside, the control of light and shadow through the shutter, and its central place in the room.

The charcoal drawings, like the clay in the sculptures, are made from natural materials — earth and wood — which are pleasant to the touch and allow for a true closeness to nature.
