HEVRONA MALKI

Hebrona Malki is a plastic artist, a multidisciplinary artist.
My art stems from a passion for creation and working with materials. I paint on various formats such as canvas, paper, wood and glass, and also combine stained glass, fusing and mosaic techniques. The color in my works is varied, with a naive tendency, with an emphasis on the small details.
My sources of inspiration come from everyday life, the world of advertising, design and fashion, photography, social networks, visits to museums and galleries, books, lectures and exhibitions.
I incorporate pop art and vintage influences into my works. The themes of my work are related to my personal world – childhood experiences and family ties that influenced me. Over the years, I realized that I have a deep connection to vehicles, which originated from the occupation of my late father, who owned a bus and truck company. Which led me to document vehicles in their classic form.
In recent years, I have been documenting family moments from old albums, and giving them new life in my paintings.

In the work for the exhibition “My Home and Fortresses,” one of my pieces is a “writer’s cart,” a symbol of everyday simplicity, but also of gathering, journeying, and renewal. Inside the cart, I placed elements that represent a part of me and my routine – art books, brushes, paints, sneakers, water, a towel, cups of coffee, soy milk, and bananas – all of which hint at my daily routine and the engagement with an inner world that is a source of strength and inspiration.

Art for me is a tool for personal expression and dialogue with the viewer. I create out of an inner need to preserve memories, immortalize moments, and give them a new interpretation.
