Ofra Wolf

Ofra Wolf, born in 1953, is a resident of Kibbutz Urim.
She arrived at the kibbutz as a child and was adopted by the community.

As a dyslexic student, I focused primarily on creative expression.
I discovered painting at the age of 40.

My artworks explore a wide and varied range of subjects, with a developmental connection between them.
In the past, my paintings drew inspiration from the landscapes of the northern Negev, the Besor stream, and my surroundings in the kibbutz—capturing these moments as I experienced them during the act of creation.

Today, I experiment with different materials, such as compressed paper pulp, plywood sculptures, and canvas.
I sculpt using recycled materials and more.

My creative process often unfolds in series, through which I depict events tied to my environment—such as the war in the Gaza border area.
I feel a deep connection to the land, the vegetation, the whispering acacia trees, the magical sunsets, and the vast, enchanting open spaces that meet the sky and the horizon.

This process leads me back to childhood experiences, as seen in my Childhood series.
Painting, for me, is an urge for personal expression—an avenue that allows me to rewrite my own biography.
